A candidate's general stance on regulating AI systems.

Said "we need to have an effective set of regulations... a globally harmonized set of rules of the road... Congress... has to be careful not to hamstring artificial intelligence development in a way that would push that work to other jurisdictions;" introduced (with Rep. Obernolte) to create a federal AI prize-competition program to "expedite the development of artificial intelligence systems in the United States," with priorities including AI safety and mechanistic interpretability.

Data Centers

Authored the DATA Act of 2026, which lets data centers/advanced manufacturers operate as a self-contained "grid of one," exempt from FERC/DOE rules, explicitly so they don't burden ratepayers or strain local utilities; framed around AI specifically: "America must win the race to lead in artificial intelligence... By leveraging our stranded energy assets... this legislation creates a pathway for new jobs."
